Aaron Aldridge, LCMHC
Therapist
Aaron Aldridge brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Lake Tahoe Preparatory School. Since 2005, he has dedicated his career to working with adolescents and young adults in residential and transitional programs, guiding them through critical life challenges with compassion and expertise. Aaron’s therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, and Gottman Therapy. He specializes in helping young people manage anxiety and depression and complex family dynamics. His focus is on fostering resilience and equipping students with the skills they need to navigate life’s transitions successfully.
Aaron understands that returning to a less-structured environment after residential treatment or wilderness therapy can feel overwhelming. Old patterns of thinking and behavior can resurface, making therapeutic support crucial for both students and their families during this time. He is dedicated to helping teens apply the tools they’ve learned in these structured settings to real-world situations, ensuring they can continue to grow and thrive.
With undergraduate studies in Business and Human Services and a Master’s degree in Counseling, Aaron has a strong academic foundation that complements his years of hands-on experience in residential and transitional care. His holistic approach ensures that he can address the multifaceted needs of each student, supporting their emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth.
As a father of two young adults, Aaron deeply empathizes with the challenges parents face in supporting their children through critical transitions. He is passionate about helping each student at Lake Tahoe Preparatory School build confidence, discover their strengths, and emerge ready to embrace their next chapter with purpose and optimism. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He finds joy in baking, exploring his creativity through charcoal artwork, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee, all of which help him find balance and recharge.
