Alexis Lopez

Residential Counselor

BA: Criminal Justice, Texas A&M University-Commerce

The serene blue waters, enormous trees, and natural beauty of Lake Tahoe is what drew Alexis to Lake Tahoe Prep. Although Alexis' degree is in Criminal Justice, she found her passion for working with children after graduating college back in 2019. Throughout the years she's worked as a BT (behavioral therapist), SPED/English teacher, as well as summer camp counselor. These positions, as well as Alexis' background (first generation Afro-Latinx American) have molded her to be driven by deep-seated commitment to diversity and inclusion of all groups of people, whether that being through race, sexuality, religion, neurodiversity, and class. She believes that by embracing our differences, we can build a more vibrant and compassionate world for future generations. When not on campus, you can find Alexis going on hikes, doing yoga in the park, writing music, or binge watching crime documentaries.
