Dr. Mark Braunstein (Dr. B) grew up in New York and attended undergraduate at the University of Florida, where he received a BS in Mathematics. He went on to earn his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College Of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
Dr. B specializes in the treatment of ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, oppositional defiance, personality disorders, and treatment resistance. He is known for his relaxing nature, his assessment skills, and his ability to involve clients in their own treatment process and develop a therapeutic alliance with treatment-resistant youth.
Dr. B provides Lake Tahoe Prep students and families with a high level of care and attention surrounding their medication and treatment plan by aligning with the wishes of each student’s family and collaborating with the rest of the LTP team to ensure comprehensive care. He provides an initial assessment with each student upon admission to establish a full review of every student’s history. Dr. B does not solely review student medications, but also considers the student’s medical and clinical profile to best determine what their needs will be.
