Elyse Resnick has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 28 years. She is dual licensed in California and Nevada. Elyse’s professional career has included managing a private practice in Nevada and California, developing therapy programs for a private adolescent residential treatment school and non- profit domestic violence and child abuse agency, facilitating grief groups formothers, and critical incident management with first responders. Elyse utilizes a multi-modal treatment approach that includes the family systems approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art and play therapies. Elyse specializes in working with children, adolescents and families in order to help them recognize and change thought processes that cause unhealthy behavioral and relational patterns. She utilizes a direct, non-judgmental, and sometimes humorous approach to aid her clients in learning new and healthy ways to work through problems and stresses in their lives, help the family as a unit learn to relate to each other in a more positive and successful environment, and to teach clients skills and techniques that will help with problem solving and to feel better about themselves in their everyday lives. Elyse raised two boys in the Bay Area who are now young adults. She enjoys hiking, lake sports, skiing, traveling to new places, live music, her dog Bo, and spending as much time with her boys, family, and friends as she can.
