Lauren Hilton
LPCC, Therapist
Lauren Hilton, LPCC, (California #LPCC9976) is a licensed professional clinical counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting adolescents, families, and parents. Known for her warmth, humor, and genuine presence, Lauren brings both clinical expertise and deep compassion to her work. She thrives in her work with teenagers and delights in their energy, insight, and spontaneity.
Lauren operates from a foundation of unconditional positive regard, modeling the very skills she teaches—humor, radical acceptance, emotional flexibility, and deep listening. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), helping clients understand and relate to their internal experiences with greater kindness and skill. Lauren’s personal motto, “no bad parts,” reflects her belief that every aspect of ourselves deserves curiosity and care.
In her work with parents, Lauren teaches how to validate, regulate, and reconnect—often beginning with the radical step of self-acceptance. When parents become attuned to their own nervous systems and embrace their internal "parts," they create a healing space not only for themselves but for their children as well. Through this work, families grow more resilient, connected, and able to navigate emotional challenges together.
Lauren first fell in love with the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe in 2011 and is now thrilled to call it home. She spends as much time as possible outside—in the sun, on the water, or crunching through snow in winter. When not in nature, Lauren is likely hosting a karaoke night, organizing an impromptu dance party, or immersed in one of the five books she’s reading across five different subjects.
