Head of School with students outdoors

William Grant • Head of School

At Lake Tahoe Preparatory School, we believe all our students deserve a robust education designed to meet them where they are in their academic journey, and those journeys are very different depending on the student. As Head of School since 2011, I can say with certainty that Lake Tahoe Preparatory School is uniquely positioned to offer all students a meaningful and fulfilling academic experience.

Lake Tahoe Prep is a coeducational boarding school for students in grades 9-12 located in Olympic Valley, California. With a student body of 50 and student to teacher ratio of 7:1, we lead a program built upon personalized attention. Our students benefit from our robust curriculum approved by the University of California, small class size, individualized learning, and access to yearlong outdoor sports.

In 2020, we marked the 42 year anniversary of our school with a name change to  Lake Tahoe Preparatory School. This change provides our prospective students a greater understanding of the location of our school, and reflects our growth and development over the last four decades. Our new name also signifies our role in preparing our students to be ready to learn, ready to launch, and ready to lead as they pursue their education now and in the future.

I’d like to invite each of you to reach out to me to schedule a visit. A campus visit is an authentic way to meet our students and learn about their experiences, while touring our newly renovated buildings, and sitting in on classes—whether introductory or one of our 15 Advanced Placement offerings. While visiting, you’ll quickly see we offer the best of a big school, with all the benefits of a small one.

Sincerely,

William "Bill" Grant
Head of School
