Typical Schedule
The day begins at 8:00 AM, giving students time to dress, tidy their rooms, and make their beds before gathering in the dining hall. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 8:55 AM, and room inspection takes place while students prepare for the morning ahead.
From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, students engage in the morning's Activities, Training, and Experiential Learning block — a dynamic period that may include skiing, athletics, physical and/or outdoor education, visual and performing arts, world languages, collegiate study, college prep, internships, service learning, community-based work, or other academy programming.
Students return to campus at midday for Lunch and Transition, a thirty-minute window for a shared meal, advisory check-ins, and quiet preparation for the afternoon's academic work.
Afternoon classes run from 12:30 to 4:30 PM across four consecutive blocks. The first two are devoted to humanities, the third to mathematics, and the fourth to science.
Dinner is served at 5 PM. Several times throughout the year, students gather for a formal dining experience where dress attire and table etiquette are observed. The evening concludes with a mandatory recitation and study hall period from 6-7:30 PM Sunday through Thursday, proctored by staff in a quiet, focused setting. Students who have earned a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher may be eligible to study independently in their dormitory rooms.
On the weekend, students are welcome to enjoy some additional rest and wake up later in the mornings. Brunch is served each weekend day from 10 AM-11AM. Sunday through Thursday, lights are out at 10 PM. Friday and Saturday, light are out at 11 PM.
