Dining

Our students can’t rise to the challenge of the Lake Tahoe Preparatory School experience if they are not fueled by the best nutrition. Our goal is to provide nutritious meals that will encourage students to maintain a lifetime of healthy eating habits.

We’ve said so long to high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, and high-salt, factory-made products. We source responsible meat with all chicken certified free range, and beef from two local sources--one a ranch just eighty miles from campus. All soups are made in-house, as are the beef and chicken stocks. A Fresh salad bar is available each day, and there are ample, year-round fresh fruits and snacks between meals. We also offer vegetarian options and can accommodate some special dietary needs.

We educate our community on the link between healthy eating, academic performance, and mood, and we execute that lesson by serving natural, non-processed nutrition with a youthful perspective in mind. Teenage favorites get reimagined--pizzas are crafted with fresh vegetables and lean meats; our hamburgers with local, grass-fed Angus beef.

Just as the kitchen is often the center of family activities in people’s homes, our dining hall is often the center of life for the LTP family. From the slow-roasted meats, to jasmine rice, to the grilled chicken burritos, the students have come to expect high quality foods with outstanding taste.
